I've never upgraded my HD before. My current one is an ATA, does that mean my new one has to be ATA?
Well I want to buy one if so, if not SATA or whatever. 3/3/2011 7:08:45 AM |

I'm assuming this for a desktop?
You have to have a sata connector on the board to plug in a sata hard drive. 3/3/2011 7:49:47 AM |

Whats the easiest way to check what I have/can have? I'm sort of a newbie when it comes to putting PCs together. The PC I have now was built by someone else like 5 years ago and I purchased it from him off craigslist. Ideally I would prefer to just attach another drive and not have to replace the one I currently have, the second drive would be basically use exclusively for media.
And I also would be up for getting an external drive if necessary. Though I would prefer something internal.

Okay looks like the easiest thing to do might be to just get an external drive. So I'd like to buy an external hard drive if anyone has one, ideally 500 gb or bigger. 3/3/2011 4:13:27 PM |

Does anyone have a 2.5 PATA IDE hard drive they'd be willing to drop in the mail? Any size and speed will work. 5/20/2011 6:03:27 PM |
