I will soon be moving by car and want to fit as much as I can into my car. For this reason, I want to compress my clothes and try to take a ton of them with me. Anyone know of a good clothes compressing system where the bags become really really small by sucking the air out? Any other packing advice would be welcome. 3/5/2011 4:38:34 PM |

walmart has space saver bags in the clothes hanger/hamper section that work well. we used them to take fire suits to nicaragua a few years ago. space saver may be the brand name, not sure. the ones we got came 4 or 6 to a box, varying sizes. 3/5/2011 4:40:18 PM |

My mom gave me a food saver for xmas. I keep a change of clothes and some cold weather clothes in my work truck that are packed with the food saver. The thing is you can only pack a couple of things per bag because the bags are small. That's great for me but it'd probably be a pain in the ass for you.
My friend does the same thing with those space saver bags and he says they work.
^^What kind of fire suits? I keep nomex wildland firefighting clothes packed in my truck in case i get dropped on with retardant.

we took turnout gear down there. part of a mission team to help out the fire department, hospital, police station, etc.
we fit pants, coat, gloves, and ski mask thing in one bag. fit 2 sets per suitcase plus a helmet...without the bags we wouldn't have been able to fit all that in a suitcase 3/5/2011 5:46:24 PM |
