Sorry to put this in chit-chat but I'm in a hurry and I obviously can't call the DMV right now

I'm selling a motorcycle to someone here shortly but I can't find the dagnabbed title. It's clean and clear and in my name, just lost the damned thing. If memory serves, I don't have to apply and wait for a duplicate if the buyer and I go to the DMV on Monday and I fill out a temporary title (or whatever it's called), have it notarized and signed over...this sound right?

i think that's right ... but it wouldn't hurt you to call them or look on the dmw website

haha sorry for the not so helpful response there, but it is all I got- I know nothing about title transfers (never done one that wasn't at a dealership).

Only place in NC to get instant title is DMV headquarters on New Bern Ave

it costs a lot more than a regular duplicate title.

Also keep up with your title in the future.

I think I saw you hawking your bike in the Harris Teet parking lot this afternoon. If so, he looked like the kind of guy that might buy the bike without a title.

You'll have to get an instant title at the office on New Bern. Kind of pricey too. Otherwise, you pay a much smaller amount and you have to wait a week or two to get it in the mail.
