"Offense and anger are not arguments," he wrote. "But I remain open to hearing and reading good arguments." About 100 students attended the after-class, optional seminar on fetishes."

was what occurred at this seminar wrong? The fact that it was option and after class is irrelevant.

It's only wrong if it ineffectively serves in furthering academia - which is ultimately the purpose for the class. In this scenario, I'm failing to see how a chick being fucked by a dildo results in profundity which could give way to some intellectual breakthrough.

The cool thing about this point of view is that, when you live in this reality, it proves itself. I wish I felt that way.

That being said, those of us living in the real world find this stance ridiculous.
