...I certainly like it. I certainly can't fault it for anything. No doubt it's a good song.
But for me it lacks that sort of energizing HOLY SHIT I FUCKING LOVE THIS factor that I get from some other songs.
Not that I can think of any particular song that I would call "the best of all time", largely because I hate the idea of an over-arching "best song" in the first place.
...Not the best songs ever, but I like Spoon, so I'm posting them anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp15kxAE3ig http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4Q9zngV52U

I think some pieces of music are even better than this one but they have no lyrics so IMO they aren't "songs":
"Must Be Dreaming" from Frou Frou - Details (2002): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uryUCVhjtr4 3/6/2011 9:11:29 AM |

As an unrepentant GBV fan, I can't fault this (though I might have gone with Game of Pricks.) Care of Cell 44 is another good choice.
However Bob himself (quite drunkenly) said Baba O'Riley is "the fucking best song in the fucking world and anyone who disagrees fuck you" when they played it to end their show at Cat's Cradle in '02 or '03 (don't remember.)

I think "Mr. Self-Destruct" and "Ruiner" are better songs from that album, "The Perfect Drug" is the best NIN song, and "I'm Afraid of Americans" is the best song that Trent Reznor had any part in.3/6/2011 3:13:53 PM |
