it's certainly a shitty city, but at least it's somewhat close to the mountains.

anything east of I-95 (or east of Raleigh) and before you get to the beach is far worse shittier than Hickory, but that doesn't make Hickory any less shitty.

not that this has anything to do with the thread, but walkmanfades has surpassed ggmon and GeniuSxBoY as my least fav poster. i know he was prob already everyone's least fav pre name change but...i guess i was kinda thinking image revamp. not so much, apparently.

also, i don't give a shit about hickory. i went to lake hickory once, it was nice. but yea...his statements about hickory may/not be true, i don't really care.

Hickory is a decent ways away from being a suckhole. Now, it might rank low in it's class, but some of the smaller towns scattered around NC make Hickory look like a nice place.

Allie, Lily and Stacey all left about an hour ago to spend the weekend with their extended family in Hickory. I've been there a couple times, not nearly as bad as some other western NC towns I've been to.

It definitely is a town that most people I know who live there like visiting friends and family but never want to move back to it. It is also a place where if you are with someone who knows the lay of the land, you can have a good time

the OP obviously hasn't been to vanceboro. it has one stop light, one gas station, and tons of broken down old houses and ghetto newer houses and no business to speak of besides a hotel that I have no idea how it stays open and one or two food place that look shut down but i don't think they are..

and i have to slow down to 25 for this stupid excuse for a town because they have cops that just park on the side of the road

Lincolnton - historical but all that's going for it is football and the apple festival

North Wilkesboro - uhm... nothing really going on here - a date in this town means going to Wal-mart

Taylorsville - good for hunting... but here a date is once again Wal-mart

Drexel - there literally is nothing...

That's exactly how I fee about the area. I like going back to visit with family and friends, but I would never want to live there again. But it is fun going back to the old places to hang out and driving in the back roads.

It's also a place that you can't go anywhere without seeing someone you know, or you're related to. Hard as fuck to skip classes and do anything but lay low at home without getting caught.

I lived 18 years of my life in hickory. Hickory is a black hole and if you are lucky enough to get out you stay the fuck out. That said, it is fun to go visit there and they have a decent disc golf course.
