i did it all the time when i had an f-150, silverado, and suburban. its much easier to get into and out of a parking space with a large vehicle if you back into it.

the other times people back in i feel like they either have a giant car (and are frequently trying to squeeze into a compact space), have a really nice car (usually sportscar), or THINK they have a really nice car (but its really like an eclipse or something). so...while there are reasons for doing it, i feel like a lot of the people that do it are just douchy

There is a Geo Metro that parks pretty close to front of my office every single day. He backs in and his car is so tiny anyways that you can't tell that there is a car there until you try to pull in

People who just run into a parking space don't care about their car from what I've witnessed

I always back in when I get a chance. I also pay attention to the cars in the lot. I don't park close to big shit shit boxes and handicaped spots. I try to park next to decent looking cars because that makes me feel like they are not gonna just swing their doors all the way open.

That's my preferred method of parking. I park in a parking deck often and pulling through is not an option. And because the parking is a pretty tight fit, I like to back in because it's hard to see to back out (and people like to drive like they're on the highway in the parking deck)

my company actually has a policy requiring you to park in the safest way possible. you're supposed to pull-through if possible. if you can't, you're supposed to back in. only if for some reason you cannot back in, then you can pull in. all that goes out the window if the parking spaces are angled.

it's much easier to pull out of a spot than to back out of a spot, especially in a tight parking deck.

This guy is almost 50, and has owned jet boats, ferarri replicas, and more than 150 motorcycles. He also makes that ghey puckered face in EVERY picture he takes. I bet this guy has more than 10,000 photos that he took of himself.
