Me and couple friends a going there in a few weeks. Any suggestion on what we should do? We're gonna stay around downtown, so I don't know if it's worth it to rent a car.

If you do end up renting a car you should get out of town for a day and visit Squamish or some of the parks around it

It's awesome. I used to go once a Q for work. In the city you never need a plan. It's got the second highest bar/restaurant density in the world to Manhattan.

if you do rent a car, go check out Whistler...it's the most beautiful car ride i've EVER been on. Granted, I rode in a Lotus and I was in an overall great mood...

Vancouver is awesome, though...you may not have to rent a car.

I thought the chinatown was cool, but the city as a whole was mostly a huge let down. No clubs to speak of and the best restaurant was a chain. Shouts to the fairmont pacific rim though, best hotel I've been to

rent a boat and ride up to deep cove and the end of that waterway. it is one of the most beautiful places i have ever been

We rented bicycles and rode all around Stanley Park and the Vancouver seawall. Had a great time. Just south of Chinatown was pretty sketchy.
