I thought this was pretty interesting, especially from a psychological and philosophical point of view.

I learnt about the "Haber-Bosch process" in HS chemistry, but never bothered to look up the story behind [Fritz] Haber.
Quote : | "Fritz Haber's inventions both saved millions, and were eventually used to kill millions" |
Quote : | "It has been claimed that as many as two out of five humans on the planet today owe their existence to the discoveries made by one brilliant German chemist.
Yet this is the same chemist denounced by young German students today as a "murderer".
No-one personifies better than Fritz Haber the debate over science's capacity for good and evil." |
Quote : | "One observer describes his invention as "the most important technological invention of the 20th Century"." |

he's not the "the zyklon b guy"
he's the "chemical weapons guy"... a subtle, but important difference
...
you want to double the humanity and interest
google Haber Einstein
...
people need to understand that the modern image of the leftest scientist is really a product of people like einstein feynmann and so on...
scientists maintain politics across the entire spectrum...
the hope and goal is that their politics does NOT interfere with the search for scientific truth
Haber was a brilliant chemist and, if you want, the analysis really can kind of stop right there
