On my way home there were some smoldering areas around Falls Lake. I'm guessing they had a controlled burn since we recently got a bunch of rain.

I have been away from the radios dealing with some work related situations.
As far as the CAD/Locution dispatch logs I see the following:

"Incident: FSMK : Map: 009V Address: STONY HILL RD / BUD MORRIS RD Location: Apt: Cross: Units: SHP261, Talk Group: O3 City: WCWF Comments: **SMOKE INVESTIGATION IN AREA** CALLER CAN SEE SMOKE IN THIS AREA PRIMARY UNIT CH"

That would be Stony Hill Pumper 261 (SHP261) and it corresponds to the area you are inquiring about.
I see another "Smoke in Area" call but it is in Northeast Ral area (Ral FD Sta 25/Falls FD Pumper 211).
I don't see anything else in CAD for that area that would give more info.
Sorry I could not be of more help but considering no structure or woods fires calls have been also dispatched
I would consider it either an illegal burning perhaps. Usually RWECC (dispatch) is notified of all live burns
so they would not have dispatched the above call to Stony Hill if it was a live burn.
