Does PETA ever feel guilty putting millions of dollars into stopping the Army from shooting pigs to promote the life-saving practice of becoming more proficient at treating battlefield wounds when millions of people are suffering, exploited, abused, and dying around the world? Do they want to rescue every canary in every coalmine even if it means all the miners die?

I wonder if activists at the Human Rights Campaign have a superiority complex over their PETA brethren because this argument is so self obviating.

We have to look out for animals, but there's a reason why we have these pointy things in our mouths called canine teeth and they have the engineering specifications to puncture and extract meat. Whether or not you believe God or nature put them there is irrelevant, the fact is that our species was endowed with canine teeth.

That's a valid criticism but a terrible example . The U.S. military directly causes a fair amount of that suffering, exploitation, and death. They're shooting pigs to enhance their ability to continue the process of domination. Anything that hinders the war machine helps our species as a whole.
