Normally I'd jump on the pile here, but these drives are server class drives, not your standard consumer grade drives, and theyre new (supposedly in the box). Newegg sells em for $140 new (with 5 year warranty), and $87 re-certified (with no warranty).

If you're building out a server and value your data, this looks like a pretty good deal.

Thanks for the reply. These are brand new drives, but they come in the static wrapper. Not in boxes. They were bought in bulk and I paid just over $100 each. I will offer a warranty on these for 1 year from the date of purchase. If they crash within a year (and there's no physical damage) I'll replace them free of charge.

ETA: If someone comes with $140 cash they can have them both.

Well in that case scratch the warranty. $140 for the pair, and ya'll just fucked yourself out of the warranty. The company I buy them from gives me a 1 year warranty on all bulk hard drives. They are covered through me for a year whether you want them to be or not....

But why even buy a server class HDD? A regular 1 TB HDD is still buckets cheaper and cheap enough to toss and replace if it dies (not to mention they almost always come with a 1 yr warranty that doesn't require you having to go through someone).

My concern with HDDs isn't the warranty, it's the lost data if/when they die. I understand that this is rated as a server class HDD. So instead of just saying it's "server class," which when it comes to HDDs means nothing to me, I think you may want to offer up an explanation as to what sets it a part from a normal consumer grade HDD.

If you're looking for somewhere to store your videos, music and porn, these drives are not for you. If you're running RAID 5 in a webserver (on the cheap) you might wanna take a look at these drives.

Will trade for a NIB Core 2 Duo or cheaper Quad Core Processor. Will also trade for a nice Middy Tower with a nice PSU. Possibly a motherboard as long as it's Asus or MSI. Prefer socket 775 for the cheaper builds. Will consider any new components in trade depending on what you have.
