(high school) are still stuck dating in the same pool of people from my high school. I mean I find it gross to sleep with people friends have slept with but beyond that. How do you make it 10 years past highschool and not date someone that wasn't in your home room or Spanish 1 class???

Easy...I just refuse to sleep with anybody with a last name that begins with "A" or "B"...our homerooms were organized by our last names.

That said, I haven't dated anybody that I went to high school with in like forever. And hopefully won't ever again.

The majority of the folks I went to high school with never went to college or took classes at the community college. So they were all stuck in the same pool of people.

Those that did managed to branch out, date/marry others from outside of our community.

I've also noticed that a lot of the ones considered 'popular' (homecoming queen, prom king/queen, quarterback, etc) all ended up marrying someone from school. Out of these folks, if they made it through college and graduated they are now teachers at the high school.

I went to a private middle school. Most of the kids there were in a closed group and didn't have many friends outside of their classmates. I wasn't really friends with any of them because I did things like listen to rock music and play video games instead of going to every church youth group function.

When we went off to high school, they all had a difficult time adjusting. Everyone went to one of 3 different high schools, so the comfort group was splintered. I had an easy transition because I had been hanging out at the mall and other places so I had made a lot of friends that didn't go to my middle school. These kids saw that, and magically, they all wanted to be friends with me then.

I remember it seeming weird to me, but I definitely didn't want to be friends with them at that point. I went to high school with the intention of staying out late, smoking cigarettes, getting drunk, getting high, and getting laid. These people were fucking scared to death to walk down the breezeway because it was obvious that they were no longer important. No one gave a shit about them, and they vanished into oblivion for their high school years.

Nowadays, I occasionally look up a few of them on Facebook, and all of their friends are people from middle school. Bunch of fucking losers LOL.

Most of the girls that I went to high school with were smoking hot, still are

the last couple girls I dated went to my high school, but i didnt know them then, really where I'm from I would only date girls that went to my highschool, most others were pretty much trash (mostly)

this.

our homecoming king/queen are dating each other and have been since high school. same group of friends, etc. this is true for most of the cliques from my high school and since I'm from Raleigh I see them all the time. I still talk to a few people from high school but mostly hang out with people I've met in college. I loved the people form high school and had an awesome hs experience but I'm glad I branched out in college. I try to keep my "North Raleigh" friends separate from my college friends.

haha a friend of mine was bragging about a girl he had just hooked up with only to find out that I had slept with her a year before him so our third friend now refers to us as "Eskimo brothers"

i have been back home (W-S) for 3 weeks recovering from a scope surgery (labrum/rotator cuff) and have been out several times at night with friends also popping in from Charlotte and Wilmington

i almost didn't want to go out last night because i was tired of the small talk that ends with me mentioning owning my own bizness and loving it in RAL and them telling me there still hanging around town, its just feels shitty (especially when i don't remember them)and frankly bores me.

it seems that's just the way it goes everywhere. unless you were $TEXAS growing up with successful peers

i came from Concord NC graduating class of 330 people .... and most of them just keep
are eee cee wye cee ell eye en gee

Its one thing to marry your hs sweetheart thats cool... you met "the one" early but to limit your dating people to people you already knew... wtf?
The funniest part is all the "pretty girls" from my HS aren't anymore so if you were doing it to hook up with that girl that wouldn't give you the time of day in HS... its really not impressive anymore. I mean the 120lb high school cheerleader is now the 170lb clerk at the mall.

I have always wondered this too, Bill.

My graduating class was like 245 or something small and there are a lot of people that have dated since they were 9th graders and also people who have swapped partners yet still live in the same vicinity as their parents. I am not against wondering out of your hometown and then returning but people who never venture out, I always wonder if it is comfortability or is it fear of the unknown.

I am glad I did not marry some of the people that I really liked in high school. REALLY RELIEVED!!

One of the reasons I dated guys from other counties or black guys in high school....not related to them. It's really hard when you have your family tree and you know all the last names that you are related to.

I think if you went to Athens and then dropped out from NC State or are still "attending" NC State 5+ years after HS graduation, you have inevitably been employed by the Cary Ale House.

There were like 34 kids in my graduating class. Probably 20 went to unc and 3 or 4 transferred there... however this is our graduation year so most still live in chapel hill and live in somewhat small circle

My graduating class was only 26. Half the class were from High Point's wealthy elite alumni families, and the other half were just smart kids who got in on scholarships. All the rich kids dated and traded eachother constantly, while the others pretty much stayed single throughout highschool.

I only have one facebooked, and my last encounter with one was 7 years ago. I don't know where they live, what they look like or what they're doing. I still live in the same town, so it's not because I've moved far away. This year will be our class' 10 year reunion.
