Please explain how killing is the best option to shut someone up. Maybe you have never heard of a martyr, maybe you haven't heard the story of jesus christ. okay, to shut someone up, no...especially if they are preaching justice, etc. it will just transform them into a martyr, as you say.

but to keep them from doing mischief, it is a very effective method

my application of this idea to MLK was perhaps not very apt...I basically meant that as far as he, personally, went, all his words and virtue could not save him from the raw power of killing.

killing your opponent is the most powerful method of getting your way, and if your way is virtuous, then killing is sometimes justified. it was better to kill millions of Germans than to let Hitler dominate Europe.

nevertheless, it was stupid on my part to apply this idea to MLK.
