in general

you get approved for the loan, sign the promissory, they disburse the cash to the dealership and you assume loan payments within the terms of their agreement

yeah, I've never actually even dealt with a physical branch, they'll work with you via email and phone and just fax any necessary paperwork

Certainly, and I will also gladly advise you on your financing of your car as the 1.4 trillion pages of websites queried by google and 24/7 hotline set up by PenFed are obviously inadequate to meet your informational demands.

You're evidently financially savvy and an excellent judge of that which is failure.

i have no questions about financing in general

i have a question about how this bank specifically does it for private sellers. many banks with limited branches partner with other banks and credit unions to do a pre-purchase inspection and do the final paper work.

and like i mentioned, i am in a meeting and can not call

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE FAIL TRIFECTA!!

1) it's a credit union

2) you have no time to call during a meeting but time for tdub - must have an awesome job with meetings of importance

3) what makes you think they would be any different than any other institution

its a meeting of almost no importance that i am required to attend

i'm also chatting on gmail and reading google reader

banks and credit unions handle this differently

correct

and PenFed is a credit union not a bank

That's probably a good starting point. You just called it a bank..... ^ ^ ^

" 18 MAY -AP WIRE Associated Press-Local man offended by lack of financial assistance provided in college themed chat boards.

Local man rbrthwrd was surprised to discover the lack of relevant financial advice and shared experiences in dealing with Pen Fed Credit Union at a website unofficially affiliated with NC State University. Recently irked at the lack of veritable financial advice stemming from a recent posting in a forum whose description was to "hang out, socialize, and just generally screw around! May be NSFW (without warning)," he was forced to draw his own conclusions at the apparent stupidity and availability of information not immediately germane to a complex transaction involving the sale of an automobile from a private party with intention of using a credit union to finance the transaction. In what was described as a "fail trifecta" the lack of useful information was almost what he would have described as "epic." While not immediately available for comment, reports indicate he is still experiencing difficulty."
