Its a sequel to a video game, not the sequel to Inception. Whatever you can't find in a summary on line will no doubt be covered in the game's introductory sequence.

^You should still do yourself a favor and play the first one before you play portal 2. The story line is linear and I don't think you can fully appreciate the second without playing the first. DL it from xbox live or just pick up a used copy of the Orange Box for cheap. You won't regret it!
