My friend gets it done and swears by it. She can still wear her hair wavy - the treatment cuts out all the frizz so her head doesn't rival one of a standard poodle.

I really want to get it done. It's impossible for my hair to stay decent in the summer time. I think once I get the rest of my credit card paid off I'm going to treat myself to this.

Keratin treatments as they are (were?) have been outlawed in NC due to the gaseous formaldehyde by-product

I'd make sure you're not getting bamboozled before going through with whatever they're offering

^ i think the old treatments were outlawed. unless people confuse the brazilian straightening treatment for the keratin treatment, i have friends who have gotten it done here.

the after-treatment stuff is expensive. my boyfriend's sister had the keratin treatment done last year and she was telling me how much the shampoo/conditioner/treatment stuff cost.
