Well, Charlotte and Raleigh are the only two cities in NC that people from around the country care about and they are half transplants so I see where he is coming from. People just assume since they are so affluent it isn't a true part of the Deep South that is so stereotyped.

^^ I just hate vinegar It is about the only food related thing I've tried that physically makes me sick to my stomach. Even the smell. Also because of that, there are very few wines that I enjoy since so many have a vinegary after-taste (obviously the dryer the worst in that regard). No idea why my body is weird like that.

I didn't really give into "eastern NC" style BBQ until about 5 years ago. Coming from Louisiana I had no clue WTF that stuff was growing up.

I'm still working on getting on board the vinegar train....but I like the meat w/o the sauce (OH YES I DO)
