It seems President Obama is flying in to RDU Monday. Im flying out Monday.

Anyone remember what all roads they close when hes in town? Or how they change security at RDU?

He is visiting the CREE factory in Durham. I think last time they completely shut down Interstate 40 with rolling road-blocks until his motorcade passes.

Great... getting into work is going to be fun. I remember when he landed at GSO and there were cop cars every 20 feet along the way to get in through the airport.

you shouldn't have any problem at the terminal.. maybe a little stiffer going through security, but AF1 won't deplane into the terminal. Outside of seeing the airplane out there you probably won't even notice a difference.

thats def a bitch when he is flying into town. we flew out of austin the morning when he flew in the afternoon.

however, i wasnt in a commercial plane.....i was in a military training helicopter.

So I called, ([user] wwwebsurfer[/user] thanks for the link) as best they know hes coming in in the afternoon, and they do shut the whole airport down, no traffic (car or air) in or out while hes on the premises. Once he leaves they resume operations.

Supposely hes also flying in when I leave This is gonna be a fun day. I think Imma go sit at the airport all day just to be safe.

^^ Expected that, Im more worried about getting to the airport knowing how much they close the area and I40 down.
