preferrably a netbook type thing. all it needs to do is surf the internet.

New 10" netbook are down in the $200 range these days with refurbs about $75 less. They're also pretty rampant on craigslist.

Are you looking for something specific? (like one that is hackintosh compatible or one with long battery life?)

My gf is selling her toshiba netbook. Have a couple people on here with offers of $100 but they have yet to respond to me trying to set up a time to meet.

There is a Goodwill here in Greensboro that has a separate store inside of it devoted to computers. Not sure if there is a similar one where you are, but they have great deals. They also fix computers for people. A guy I work with bought a ThinkPad from there with Windows 7 for $50.
