Who ya got?

Tiger is out of the field obviously, so it will probably not get as much attention as years passed, but with all the young guns coming up it should still be exciting.

I personally will be rooting for Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott and Mickelson.

Tons of coverage on tv, we just have to listen to Chris Berman struggle to complete a sentence on one breath for the 1st few hours on espn today

^he teed off on back 9 first which is the tougher side...front side is the scoring side...he's already back to +3 after no. 1...i expect he'll finished at +1 or +2 at the worst...but you never know.

Saw Chris Berman cruising in a cart on wednesday, lazy fuck.

Actually all of the espn peeps were cruising in their own golf carts. I've never seen so many golf carts and gators flying around a course in my whole life.

I'll wait till Sunday before I pay attention to McIlroy... see if he can make it through the first 9.

he's got a good start on sunday thats for sure.

if he just plays golf he does fine...when he thinks about it he sucks.

amazing to watch, i had him in the pool though...figured he would do good on this course.

made the mistake of listening to Colin Cowherd on my way to pick up lunch today and he played an interview he had with Rick Reilly (who is the 3rd part of the holy trinity of terrible sports radio with Cowherd and Skip Bayless). Rick claimed that Europeans are dominating Americans on the golf course now because Tiger "beat down" his fellow Americans so bad that they no longer have the killer instinct and are content to finish in 2nd place.

Of course Colin "couldnt agree more" with Reilly, but that is the biggest load of crap. There are lots of reasons why euros are beating americans recently, but that is not one of them

i stopped listening to Cowherd, even if he's the only thing on FM from 10-12, i just either listen to Dan Patrick or music

There is a ton of American talent, they just aren't as consistent as the Euros right now. I think we depend too much on Lefty but Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Mahan, Snedeker, Nick Watney (who is a beast when he is on), Matt Kuchar....then plenty of young guys like Fowler, Gary Woodland, Johnny Vegas, Bill Hass, and Dufner.

Why these guys aren't playing up to their potential in Majors....who knows, but US golf is far from down in the dumps. Maybe the pga needs more tough setups, and less birdie fests. I guarantee that all of the players who played in San Antonio in that crazy wind will be more battle tested for the British in the future.

Fact is, the Euros are playing well, they are consistent as hell, and seem to have a lot of guys that have ice in their veins, if you watch the end of the FedEx cup there will be plenty of US guys battling at the end of the day.

Rickie Fowler just cost himself a weekend of golf with a double on the Par 3 7th hole.

That double may fuck him up mentally. Although a 7 or 8 shot lead should still be good for how well he is playing this course.

I love weekends at the majors. The only thing that would make it better would be if coverage started earlier, like around 10am. That way I could park it on the couch and veg out all day

although I did get some chores done earlier so I can justify my laziness until a friends cookout later

As sadistic as it seems, I want McIlroy to choke it up. Better for drama on a weekend.

Zach Johnson can make a run? I'd like to see Sergio be in tomorrow as well.

There will be no 80 at Congressional this afternoon. I think Rory went to school on that experience and we'll see a good round from him today.

He literally has a shot to put in the best performance ever for 111 year old major tournament. That is some serious bragging rights.

I think he'll come back a bit. No 80, but win by 2 or 3 strokes. A lot of weight on a barely 22 year old a month after a monumental collapse on Sunday in a major.

Rory could probably win with just his irons today.

Although the evil part of me is kinda hoping for a Van de Velde level choke on 18

personally I'm hoping that Rory wins by 10 strokes today, ESPN crowns him as the new king of golf, Tiger gets a fire lit underneath him and we wind up with an epic British Open where Tiger and Rory are tied for the lead entering Sunday.
