and there are definitely some things a person WANTS to forget and get distance from. like...if it was an all or nothing thing i don't think i'd do it (unless i had 0 memory and had Alzheimers or dementia or something and this could reverse that). but as a person right now even though there are somethings i'd like to remember better, there's a whole lot i spend a lot of time trying to forget.

I seldom forget events as a whole when they happen to me... and most of the details are in place as it is.

The mind fuck I think, qntmfred, would be what would you do with it? Would it just be a new source of data when you "remember something" in the sense that recollection occurs as it does now?? Or will you sit there and start going through, like a video looking for something cool... like going through photo albums and home movies.

My memory isn't flawless, but I think mine is sufficient for what I expect of it.

Although maybe it would be nice to actually remember the decent things I do. I have an overdeveloped ability to remember bad things, and they grow in significance over time. A lot of other people seem to just forget their shit. But it's no problem cause I also have knack for remembering everybody else's worse moments as well. And this knack is yet another bad thing I have to remember about myself.

Then I made a point to do things notable, one at a time, until my notable moments outnumbered my worst moments.
