So what's the best way to go about meeting people in Raleigh. When I move back to go back to NCSU, I'll only have like 2-3 friends in the area

It will always be awkward for 1 person to meet other groups of people without it coming off as church-group-esque, you'll have to go in with a wingman

one time I saw a meetup.com singles meet at a place in Cameron Village. Talk about a meat market. Stay away from those. Other meetup stuff will be ok.

its a lot easier than you think. meetup.com is a good start. don't do the singles ones right off the bat, they're all awkward. Do the group activities and such.

Join co-ed kickball team and create a "posse" or "crew" of 4-5 couples that you only hang out with

You can't think of it as being the third wheel. Make yourself the center of attention. Think of it as you being the big front wheel on at tricycle, and they're the little retard wheels in the back.

this.

then when you have a little crew going you can go out to more places without feeling uncomfortable and get more selective regarding friends you meet. weed out the stragglers in your original group. profit.

I have generally found out that an easy way to make friends is to buy the bar out

you should start looking into meetup now to see what type of meetups the groups are having. Like if they sound cool but are only meeting every 6 months, that's a bit pointless. Or if they have tons of members but only 5 are showing up to each meetup.
