They actually made me think the game froze too, since the disc is slightly damaged.

Are you sure the game froze because the disc is damaged or is your sanity meter too high? I don't know how far you are in the game but if you just started out and haven't figured it out yet, the higher the sanity meter, the more it messes with your head. It will do shit like freeze up for a second or make it seem like the game has been reset or the audio will cut out or something like that. One time I was playing and a spider ran across the screen... I got up because I swore the spider was real but later found out that the game was just fucking with me.

No it was sanity, it tricked me.

Best Eternal Darkness Story though, game had been freezing some on my old TV didn't think much of it. One time the TV went black and started emitting a high pitched sound. I was like "Woah this is detailed." Turned out my TV had blown and was starting to smoke out the back.

AHA, I actually played Eternal Darkness!!!

I inherited a Gamecube from a friend, and it was randomly the first (and only) game I ever really played on it.

It set my expectations for all the new games and stuff like crazy high.

This is probably one of Nintendo's best stand alone games probably because Silicon Knights made it.

lol I remember one part when I selected a health kit from my inventory and instead of taking out the health kit the dude just took out a pistol and shot himself in the face then went to the game over screen I was like 'WTF!?!?!?!!?' and was about to throw the controller but then it went back to the inventory and I was like "Oh Eternal Darkness, you have fooled me again."

^^Apparently if you beat it 5 or 3 times with each alignment it shows another ending as well.


Also you can play this game on the Wii, but you'll need the disc.

I played through the whole game once, but wasn't really feeling it. It's pretty easy to go through the whole thing without your insanity meter rising to the level of causing the crazy shit to go down. But the concept was pretty neat.

ahaha that was one of the first ones I got after the first few enemies I encountered. I got pretty pissed because I had bought the game from some random dude on Craigslist and I thought he had scammed me.
