1) How did they originate and did they ever play real games v.s. full on entertainment games
2)Where do they get the players and how do they train. What kinds of background do these players have
3)Are the games nowadays kinda half normal basketball exhibition and half show or what because scores seem to be documented as real scores or some shit
4)The opposing teams....are they reserve/rookie globetrotters, dudes off the street, legitimate bball players or what because they def go along with the pranks and antics of the GTs

they're from harlem. that should answer about half of your questions.

they play the washington generals. that should answer the second half of your questions.

they solve clues with scooby doo. that's not really relevant, just awesome.

Their players are really good players that just weren't quite good enough for the NBA. They all have special trick talent that would never get you anywhere in pro basketball anyway. They play semi pro teams that are local to the area they are visiting. They practice and train just like any other circus would.

no, but seriously, they actually originated in chicago. they've had some pretty good players. i think wilt chamberlin was a globetrotter at one point. they play serious exhibitions, but if they're playing the generals, it's just a show.

The Rens defeated the Globetrotters and went on to win the Tournament, but in 1940 the Globetrotters avenged their loss by defeating the Rens in the quarterfinals and advancing to the championship game, where they beat the Chicago Bruins in overtime by a score of 37–36.[citation needed] The Globetrotters beat the premier professional team, the Minneapolis Lakers (led by George Mikan), for two years in a row in 1948 and 1949, with the Lakers winning later contests.
