Seems like I'm paying twice when I watch commercials on cable tv. The money I pay goes to the cable company and the money from the ads goes to the channels. Why are the people paying the cable companies and not the channels

people->products->channels->service providers would be the logical flow of money but instead people are in the loop twice

poeple->products->channels
people->service providers

What am I missing?

the middle is always fucked the most - I agree with you on a philosophical level so either get the DVR or don't have cable. Most of life is like that

I do have DVR and hate having to fast forward through commercials. I also hate commercials on live evnts.
