What quality do you have that seperates you from everyone else...

Like not just in your group of friends or people you know...but what about you do you think sets you apart from everyone else in the world.

I only ask because I'm watching a show right now that talks about super humans, ordinary people that have an extraordinary quality...and it got me thinking that yeah, everyone is different, but when you think about it, everyone is quite a bit the same too...

This show says that on average everyone has 3 mutations in their genetics...do you have anything that make you truly unique?

do you want to know how much difference 3 mutations make? You share 99% of your genes with a mouse

I doubt this is unique, but I've not met anyone else who can pull back the tip of their tongue, which makes it look like there are two tips side by side. Sort of like its forked, but then if I stop pulling with that muscle of whatever, it goes right back to normal.

And then, if I pull back the tip as I've just described, and make the U shape that a lot of people can do, and then roll it up and hook it up on the back of my teeth, those 3 things combine to make a multilayered shape that my friends say is a vagina tongue.

What matters is where the mutations are and what gene products are affected.. you could have an extra X chromosome and still be a relatively normal male but if you have a tiny piece of a certain chromosome missing, it could rock your world

Anywho, I can do an opposite fish face (if that makes sense)... I can make a vertical line down the middle of my mouth

My legs can bend in a certain way, that I've seen many other people come close to doing when I show them what I'm doing, but they can never do it as far or without straining. What I gain in flexibility in that way I lose in trying to sit indian style, which is something I've never been able to do without straining.

[Edited on July 17, 2011 at 11:42 PM. Reason : TMI for the permanency of the internet, I'll just leave it at the leg flexibility thing.]

Three functional mutations makes a difference.

Scientists once thought that humans and mice shared 80% of their genes. They found out last year that they hadn't found all the functional mice genes. This makes us significantly less related than 80%.

It's still going to be higher than most would think because we are both mammals.

I held my breathe for 11 minutes once. At least that's how long thy told me I was under when they pulled me out of the pool when I was 9.

I am also never lost. I always know what direction (N,S,E,W) I am facing. When I think of roads, my mind works like google maps. Like I am looking down on them from the sky.

I have often found in life that the ones who wish to be remarkable are the ones who couldn't be more ordinary, yet the ones who simply wish to be "normal" couldn't be more exceptional.

Considering how often people tell me that I remind them of someone they know, I'm not particularly unique. I have "one of those faces" and am often mistaken for other people.

I must have thousands of twins running around the country.

At least once a week, someone will come up to me and say, "HI {insert random name}! SO GOOD TO SEE YOU! How's {so-and-so} doing? Did you enjoy {random recent activity}?

It's always embarassing for both of us when I tell them that they have the wrong person.

Or maybe they have the right person and you have periods where you black out and are a different personality

Maybe there really are a bunch of iheartkisses running around and you share a collective memory thus you aren't exactly experiencing deja vous but, re experiencing what another iheartkisses has already experienced.

^^ I've met a couple of Cass look-a-likes! But you have a very unique voice (in a good way). And then there's your other twin, LiLo ... but you don't have the fancy, tell-tale ankle bracelet.

People always think I look like someone else, but I have a birthmark in the shape of Hawaii, so that's how you can tell me and my clones apart.

I tend to keep company with people who aren't average, but I don't believe I know any unique people. Having said that I don't feel that I am unique. I am a big fan of uncommon.

I believe that's an example of a pretty cool phenomenon known as having a sense of direction. You may, in fact, be the only person on the planet with this ability. Have you contacted Stan Lee?

my fingerprint is unique. also probably my eye in a retinal scan.

also, the right side of my right wrist sometimes gets moist for some reason. not having to do with stress, or any other emotion. doctors have no idea why.
