some vender reported my CC, which is in my hand, stolen so BOFA decided i can't use the account (even check the fucking balance online) until i receive and activate the CC they're sending me...
to my home address
and of course NFCU still hasn't sent me my CC that I was approved for back in may, and decided last week that it was taking too long to get here so I order a replacement card to 2 day fedex to me.] 7/21/2011 12:42:14 AM

So I called BofA to get a replacement card, and they ended up doing a "credit review".
Well thanks to that, they're closing both my cards. One had no balance left on it, has been paid off for months, the other had $700 left on it.
I've not had a late payment in over a year. I only have 3 cards, 2 from bofa and 1 from capital one.
FUCK man, I was trying to have cards with no balances for a while, beef up that report. This, on top of other shit they've done, yeah I'll never do business with them again. 6/11/2012 5:03:07 PM

Sounds about right for B of A.
Chase is equally as shitty.
Capital One is just as shitty too, but they will not close your card, just keep you with a painfully low credit limit to increase the odds they get some fee revenue. 6/11/2012 5:47:49 PM

BofA is a horrible bank. I make deposits for my dad there (would never bank there myself) and those fuckers are unbearable. The branch in Washington is the worst. 6/11/2012 6:08:11 PM

boa wants to change my student checking account to a version where i either pay monthly or get direct deposit to it... i need this not to happen 7/3/2012 7:36:57 AM

probably not gonna happen
with the recent "banking reform" they can't get as much money out of the folks who do dumb stuff with their money, so now they have to get it out of the rest of us.
i'd keep my money in a jar before i let BofA hold it. 7/3/2012 7:40:46 AM

Most of my money is in Navy Federal Credit Union (although I'm considering switching everything over to USAA) but I have one of my student loans tied to that account, it makes a lot more sense for me to continue to be under my parent's cell phone plan and I use that account to pay them. (I don't use but like 100 minutes a month if that, and a ton of data and texting. 45 bucks a month is a lot cheaper for the service I get)
It's definitely useful to have, but I can definitely live without it. I'm going to see if I can keep it as a student account or some kind of free account without getting direct deposit to it. Right now the perks of direct deposit with NFCU are a LOT better than what BOFA will give me. I'm technically still a college student since I'm taking classes at Columbia College of Missouri through Navy College, so maybe I can work this to my advantage? Idk, I was just told in 2 months they were going to change it. 7/3/2012 7:50:32 AM

my experience is exactly the opposite
they called me thursday to check on a suspicious charge on my freedom card and when i said it wasn't ours, they suggested the account be closed and offered to send us new cards overnight via UPS...received them on friday 7/3/2012 8:06:20 AM

sweet, found another free option that doesn't require me to direct deposit to them. BOFA, you can keep having ~110 dollars a month filter through that account. 7/3/2012 8:16:11 AM

^^ I agree. We haven't had anything weird happen with our account (knock on wood), but Chase has been far better than BoA was for us, and Wachovia/Wells Fargo before then.
BoA refused - I mean outright *refused* - to change my last name for 8 months after our wedding. I still have a credit line with them, and to this day it bears the wrong name... two and a half years after getting married. I'd just close it, but it's now one of my longest standing accounts.
Wachovia pulled that random closure of a long standing credit line for no reason bullshit - it was my last account with them, and I have no intention of giving them a penny of my money ever again. Some nonsense about not being able to contact me, wtf? You have all of my phone numbers and an accurate mailing address, but can't send a fucking letter?
Chase has been great. The only thing I dislike about them is the outsourcing of some of their customer support - I hate getting somebody on the phone that is incapable of communicating in any way beyond the script in front of their face.

I'm not poor, just don't want to give BOFA any of my money.
I'm probably going to pick up more services with USAA soon, but if I do that I want to drop all my NFCU services but improve my rates on like my car loan and shit. 7/3/2012 9:26:26 AM
