I have thin hair and have trouble finding a shampoo that doesn't make that jank lose what little body it has and look half greasy at the same time.

Also, suggestions from dudes that pee sitting down are not welcome since we seem to have an abundance of those people on here.

[Edited on July 24, 2011 at 11:37 PM. Reason : I suppose something shitty thatll dry it out and blow those folicles to hell. lulz]

You made a thread about shampoo and you're making fun of dudes that sit down to piss?

as a general rule, shampoo and conditioner are bullshit...you use the shampoo to strip the natural oils out of your hair and then the conditioner to make up for the fact that you just raped your hair

use baking soda (shampoo) and vinegar (conditioner)...or something like dr. bronners if you have to have soap of some kind

Whatever you decide to purchase, just remember the most important measure is the rating on the viscosity of the surfactin compound. Does it meet minimum lubrication requirements? It needs to sustain masturbation over a long enough period to make purchase of the entire bottle actually a good investment.

ding ding ding

wash your hair infrequently and even then-only lather the roots.
works beautifully!

^ That would probably work fine if I had long hair, but I'd be able to slick my hair back like John Travolta in Grease if I didn't wash it for a week. It's not a good look for me.

this...i don't shower but every other day, anyway (eww, gross!) and then, if anything, i'll use castile soap, which doesn't strip the oil (doesn't make it "squeaky clean")

masturbatory effectivity index = (handstrokes per second per square cm of flesh)

As viscosity increases, effectivity is positively correlated to speed which decreases your odds of being caught.

I like this thread.

^ serious question that google could probably answer for me...black people hair is generally dry, right? which is why y'all (generally) add oil to it? or am i wrong in this assumption?

I use this stuff the gf picked up for me called Deva Curl, their No-Poo and One Condition. It's really made for black hair, but my hair is coarse, curly and dry like ethnic hair so we gave it a shot. The shampoo has no detergents in it (i.e. doesn't lather) because it's made for curly hair. And yeah, only shampoo the roots/scalp, the runoff will do more than enough for the rest of your hair. Of the million and one different salon-quality shampoo/conditioners I've tried it's worked best for me. If you have long hair and you're still using anything sold at food lion (other than mane and tail), you probably need to switch to something that isn't all wax and detergent. You really do get what you pay for

I can't believe I just typed all that. That's what I get for dating a hair stylist and having long hair

Correct....though I'm really bad about it because I hate oily feeling hair. I'm always on the hunt for a moisturizer that is light and not greasy feeling.

do you have to moisturize or will skipping washes keep it softer on its own?

Does anyone know of a shampoo that REALLY works at helping hair grow faster? I've been growing my hair out for two years now, but it's not growing fast enough. It is decently long but I want it to be Victoria's Secret model long! I'm getting impatient!

Yeah, my hair has a noticeable sheen by the time I wake up in the morning when it is cut short (as it is now.) I usually can't wait to jump in the shower and rinse it off. I don't want to think about what a week of not shampooing would look like.

MAY

quag...I usually wash my hair 2 times a week because it gets weighed down with product. Skipping washes doesn't do much because it will break without moisturizing.

hahaha, camping at bonnaroo in the heat had my shit where I could spike it up without product within 2 days because it was so oily. I could not wait to get home and wash it.

i try to wash my hair every other day or every two days if i can (the summer is more difficult because i get all sweaty and nasty)

i use low sulfate shampoo and conditioner

sometimes just hot water and then conditioner (no shampoo)

body soap is the same way, too. dries the shit out of skin. i always have dry skin so showering always makes me itchy (oops. i'm naaaaasty)

to the people who don't wash their hair every day: do you still wet it and blow dry it on your off day or do you completely avoid water?

nah i don't wet and blow dry on off days

if i take a shower at all on the off day i wear a shower cap

i usually just brush it and straighten it (if needed).

^^^^ I try to use shampoo no more than every other day, but I use conditioner each and everyday followed by a blow out. I wish I could just use a shower cap on the off days because it takes several days for my hair to become oily. Unfortunately, even though my hair is really really thick, it lacks body...and I have terrible bed head hair.
