I cried in the apple store last fall and looked like a crazy person... That was a big learning lesson to back up your shit figures I would lose all the school stuff I couldn't redownload (i.e., all the articles were saved but not my papers and projects) 7/26/2011 2:32:48 PM |

Seriously not enough backup copies. I do a lot of photos and have been digitally archiving all of my family photos. For reference I have these as backups of the photo archive:
1) 1TB Drive in Desktop PC (Primary Location) 2) ITB 2.5" USB Drive 3) 2 320GB 3.5" USB Drives in seperate locations 4) 320GB Desktop HDD on work computer with backup 5) Blu-ray Burner with copies of all photos burned and stored in safe-deposit box
I will be consolidating this once we move to the desktop, 1TB external, a RAIDed NAS box in aseparate location in the house, the 320GBs at work (split the archive in half as I am going over the size of one), and the Blu-ray archive at the bank. That way I have 2 off-site locations for the really important stuff and can store everything else on the NAS box. I'm a bit of a backup junkie, but when all of my kids photos, family photos, etc. are digital, I can't be too safe.7/26/2011 3:10:48 PM |
