Yeah, our stupid economic system deincentivizes art, entertainment and incentivizes buying things to keep other people from getting them so the less fortunate can pay you more money than you deserve for buying up all the things that people needed.

Most people will just think I'm talking out of my ass or don't understand how this world works but really all I've done is paused and took a second to think about how stupid this shit is at the end of the day.

It makes more economic sense to buy 3 houses and charge people extra to live in the other two than to just buy one house for you to live in and put art in. If you think about it it makes no sense for anyone to own more than what they use.

Just a theory I've considered when thinking about why the income disparity exists in America.

White people have been building up equity since they arrived in America. Blacks have been building up equity since 1964. So whites have had several hundred years in which they have passed on their wealth, while most blacks in their 20-30s now have yet to receive an inheritance when the playing field was level.

I think the disparity will be much smaller in 200 years, as whites will pay the leadership penalty and blacks will be secondary beneficiaries - i.e. they'll copy what whites have done, and the wealth gap will quickly shrink.

The greatest inhibitor to race relations in the United States is when blacks demand to have the same wealth that whites who have had a 200 year headstart have. We can't change history, and with the advantages that minorities have enjoyed since 1964, the path to a much smaller gap has been revealed.

I'm sure some of you will just say I'm a racist because I'm not selling all of my possessions and giving the proceeds to the first black person I see, but that's not correct. It's a problem that can't be fixed overnight. I'd have a problem if we still operated under separate but equal or any other type of discriminatory practices. I have no problem with allowing previously discriminated-against groups being allowed to run the race without interference. I have a serious problem with allowing them to only have to run a much smaller distance, albeit with the same end rewards.
