The clear team to beat in the NFC this year?
Finally a superbowl parade in Philly?
On the wtf side, I hear they are considering a 4-2-5 defense. 8/2/2011 11:39:16 AM |

I'm not sure what everyone is bitching about. This isn't baseball. Everyone has the same salary cap to work with. Get yourselves a real GM to manage your finances properly and foster an environment that makes your team a desirable place for free agents to want to play. 8/3/2011 7:38:05 AM |

Nope.. Sunday ticket only covers regular season.
NFL Network can show replays of some... the rest you need to somehow get the local station (ABC6 for Philly I think). Not sure how Lynwood is showing the game tonight 8/11/2011 5:03:54 PM |

Eagles are going to need Maclin to get healthy, and I would be gushing over the defense except their LB core is atrocious. Offense should still be a lot of fun to watch this year as long as Vick can stay healthy. 8/12/2011 8:12:47 AM |
Pikey All American 6421 Posts user info edit post |
1. Definitely want to know what is going on with Maclin. Sounds worse by the day. 2. Was pleased with the play of Jason Avant and Riley Cooper in the absence of DJax and Maclin. 3. Dline looked great. 4. 2ndary wasn't really challenged. The one Ravens pass play that was 10+ yards was covered by Joselio Hanson. 5. LBs were unimpressive, but I still haven't made up my mind on rookie MLB Casey Matthews leading the D yet. 6. Rookie K Alex Henery looks legit. Still can't believe the parting of David Akers got as little press as it did. 7. Ronnie Brown looks like the perfect complimentary back to spot McCoy. 8. Vince Young looks awful. I hope Vick never gets hurt. 8/12/2011 8:27:14 AM |

I am okay with 'we'. 'We' pay their salaries.... Almost like being a shareholder. Also, I assume most fans have followed the team since childhood, therefore 'we' have a lot of loyalty to the team/city (more than most players). Fans (real ones), players, coaches, trainers, cheerleaders, announcers, grounds crew, etc should all be allowed to say 'we'. ie. How much fun would it be to tell a UNC Fan that the NCSU Wolfpack will beat their ass... without saying 'we'.
-Trent Cole is beastly -Young wasn't impressive -I did like 'our' 3rd string guy (Farka, Karfa?)... after he threw that pick, he settled down and stepped into some impressive throws and took the hits -As ^ said, DBs didn't really get challenged -Receivers were great without DJ or Maclin -Also surprised the lack of interest around Akers leaving, but 'we' will take the all-time most accurate kicker in the NCAA instead -Ronnie Brown can turn a 5 yard loss into into a yard or 2, the other back who played in the 3rd or 4th (small guy) was quick and promising -I hate 'we' have a linebacker with long girly hair like the Packers guy (until he starts showing something)8/12/2011 9:53:16 AM |

Except that chances are you're either an alumnus or current student at NC State, so the 'we' fits.
Chances are you're not an current or former employee of the Eagles. Your association with them is purely you sitting somewhere watching them.
If you're saying 'we' about the Eagles, you should probably be saying it about the Power Rangers too.
The clear exception being the Packers, where many fans are actually shareholders. 8/12/2011 4:38:30 PM |
mildew Drunk yet Orderly 14177 Posts user info edit post |
Well, logic doesn't quite follow that then. Going to the college but not working for or playing on the team should exclude 'we' also.
Anyway, enough stupid discussion not related to the Eagles... My bad

Do you say 'we' when you refer to McDonalds? ...Exxon? Do you pay the programmers' salaries at Microsoft? Probably not.
You don't even know Mike Kafka or Casey Matthews names and you are saying "we" like you are some kind of superfan? C'mon, man...
I see them with anywhere from 3-5 losses. 8/15/2011 6:52:17 AM |

Vick will miss under 4.5 games. I say 2 max, not counting sitting out the last 1 or 2 at the end of the season when we lock up the playoffs. 8/15/2011 1:26:44 PM |

There is nothing more tired in the sports world than the "we" argument... and the guy that calls them out. It's a great look if you're petty and childish.

I don't see Vick missing more than one or two. But I do see him getting knocked out of several games and not coming back in. Not counting the final game against Washington where they showcase Vince Young to try and garner another draft pick for him.

I looked at the schedule. I saw 3 games there's a good chance they will probably lose. ATL, NE, and NYJ. I can also see them splitting with NYG and maybe losing to Seattle (they fly cross country on a short week to play them) but I doubt that one.8/15/2011 1:58:09 PM |
