Alright, I drive by this restaurant every morning on my way to work.

This place:

I've been super curious about it figuring it was just some sort of hippie place. But then I look it up, and it looks like it's part of some sort of weird cult

Quote :
"This wholesome menu, which draws a clientele of holistic healers, diabetics, concerned parents and curious pedestrians, adds up to what Food for Life Supreme's teachings call "transitional foods": comfortable and familiar dishes prepared in healthier and health-boosting ways. Recipes are based on practices found in the cookbook Food for Life Supreme: Transitional Recipes for Food Combining and Blood Typing Cookbook, which focuses on this aspect even more pointedly than the cafes. Collins explains this as the theory that addresses how some foods act as a slow poison with certain blood types, bringing on illness gradually.

"I'm an O-type," she says, "so I shouldn't eat lentils.""

Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Quote :
"An endeavor launched by the University of the Art and Logistics of Civilization based in Kansas City, Kan., Food For Life Supreme now has restaurants in eight cities"

So then I try to find information on the University of the Art and Logistics of Civilization and it's only online presence is on their restaurant website.

Quote :
"Although the curriculum does contain some college level courses, it is for the express purpose of advanced learning, as the average age range of our student body is between 3 and 18 years of age."

Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

So now I'm even more curious about this place Has anyone eaten there before?

I've heard of the blood type diet before but I didn't think people actually followed it.

PS - where is this place located? I'll go with you

It appears that the "University," which it is not, is more like a boarding school for intercity youth, to repair what they deem a troubled living conditions. Have to wonder what they actually teach.

It's basically the exit you take to get the West Campus. The only other shit around there is a ghetto looking daycare center and a food co-op

^ That's what I want to know too! I mean, if they're teaching them what they need to know to succeed in life, that's cool, but I bet that's not all they're teaching them.

^ lol probably.

Quote :
"Blood group O is believed by D'Adamo to be the hunter, the earliest human blood group. The diet recommends that this blood group eat a higher protein diet. D'Adamo bases this on the belief that O blood type was the first blood type, originating 30,000 years ago.

Blood group A is called the agrarian or cultivator by D'Adamo, who believes it to be a more recently evolved blood type, dating back from the dawn of agriculture, 20,000 years ago. The diet recommends that individuals of blood group A eat a diet emphasizing vegetables and free of red meat, a more vegetarian food intake.

Blood group B is, according to D'Adamo, the nomad, associated with a strong immune system and a flexible digestive system. The blood type diet claims that people of blood type B are the only ones who can thrive on dairy products and estimates blood type B arrived 10,000 years ago.

Blood group AB, according to D'Adamo, the enigma, the most recently evolved type, arriving less than 1,000 years ago. In terms of dietary needs, his blood type diet treats this group as an intermediate between blood types A and B."

lol wtf. Apparently I'm a hunter blood type

They have a different diet that is probably more healthier than 90% of America's diet, THEY MUST BE A CULT! LETS FEED THEM KFC!

If this is a cult, then what does that make Christianity or most other "religions?"

^^^^ are you anemic? or have some other issue nutrient related? there are plenty of reasons some people can't donate blood

it's not like you have aids. i feel like they'd yell at someone with aids who kept trying to donate blood

[Edited on August 7, 2011 at 12:08 PM. Reason : is nutrient even the right word? idk ]

Did you donate at Rex? Unless something changed recently there, they mail you a donor card after the first time you donate that has your blood type printed on it and they scan it when you come in so you don't have to refill out all the paperwork each time.
