Just got my first Android phone and trying to navigate the Andriod market. I'm looking for some must have FREE Android apps.
In particular, I'm looking for the best of these FREE apps: - All in one chat - something I can chat with friends on MSN, Yahoo, maybe even FB - Music player - something better than the default Music Player, Winamp maybe? - Radio Player - currently have TuneIn radio, anything better that has free radio local stations? - Picture Editor - something better than the default Gallery - Video Chat - I heard about Fringe?
.... and any other must have free apps you would recommend.
Would appreciate any recommendations as there are too many apps out there and hope to save some time. 8/9/2011 1:19:10 PM |

go to Market, then go to Apps, then All applications, then select Top free
the top few dozen or so apps are all solid and encompass various types of apps 8/9/2011 3:38:14 PM |

be very weary of free apps. the developers are writing code for charity. normal adware is fine, but many devs are mining your data. READ the EULA and access requirements 8/9/2011 3:42:05 PM |

^^I suppose, but if you go into the Market like I suggested, you'll see plenty of the apps you're probably looking for in the first place (ie Facebook, Youtube, etc) 8/9/2011 3:52:01 PM |

I've been thru a lot of them, like winamp the best

i used handcent for a while, but it's definitely slower compared to stock. that plus android updates have integrating missing features that handcent provided, and i went back to stock and have been 100% happy
I've used Astro for file browsing...it has a bunch of other features too8/11/2011 3:46:51 PM |

I ended up with Music PlayerPro because I like the interface, ability to search and download album covers and lyrics, equalizer, and more.
I didn't like Handcent....too messy/colorful/features i never use....i stuck with the stock SMS
Astro is good but I didn't like the little ads at the bottom. Fileexpert also had a simple application uninstall utility. 8/11/2011 4:02:35 PM |
