They worked when I took them out of my car, but I only drive the car when I need to haul crap so they were taking up too much space.

is there anything in the tube? any sub in...and if so what size and brand/model

Yes, there is a 10" woofer in the tube. It's everything I took out of my car, so should be plug and play.

It's only annoyingly big for me because I have a tiny hatchback with nowhere good to put it. Came with the car.
