I'm a heavy sweater, and wearing an undershirt is a guaranteed way to make me sweat.

fat guys, heavy sweaters, and if you have sensitive nips.

i'll do it if i'm going to be in a jacket for a long period of time or another opportunity for sweating. if it's just a dress shirt at the office, unless it's really cold, i wear dress shirt only.

^^ Maybe true, but sweat stains on your undershirt are preferable to sweat stains on your Van Huesen

I can't stand wearing a white shirt under the dress shirt. I can never get the tucked dress shirt looking quite right due to the tshirt messing things up. That and in August an extra layer of clothing is unnecessary, especially if I'm already wearing long sleeves.

if you're going to wear an undershirt, it cannot be baggy

tight undershirts will not have this problem.

Yeah I have tight ones but I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to physically dressing myself so I can never get it quite right. Something always looks off when I wear the undershirt.

Its all about the tuck

Getting both shirts to stay tucked at an equal depth is nearly impossible. You can't even stretch without getting everything bunched up.

a lot of the tuck has to do with the cut of your dress shirt as well. Not sure if they are this bad anymore, but I never liked Brooks Brothers because their shirts wore like a tent on me. They were cut for the 55 year old fat guy in the corner office and not an early 20s guy with a thinner build. No matter how good your tuck was you looked like a muffin man by the time you got out of your car and to your desk.

the trick to tucking in two shirts is to tuck your undershirt into your underwear, basically keeps it a separate tuck from your dress shirt. I learned this from an uncle years ago who was really into formal dressing stuff. Of course he also taught me how to give blow jobs to older men

I get a lot of my shirts from Express, they have a lot of slim fitting ones. They look excellent when I don't have an undershirt but next time it's cold I'll have to try tucking said undershirt into my underwear. I'll just have to wipe extra hard to ensure no skid marks. That would be embarrassing.

I've tried the underwear tuck several times, and I am not a fan. Besides the general awkward feeling of having something tucked into your drawers, you run the risk of getting pee dribble or shit smears on the front or back, respectively, not to mention the possibility of an accidental atomic wedgie.

If you're going to spend that much on dress shirts give Hugo Boss a try. They're basically tailor made for young, slim guys.

At that point aren't you getting pee dribble or shit smears on your underwear then? Sounds more like an issue with cleaning yourself up than how you are tucking things in.

I wear a tank top undershirt under light shirts, and a regular t-undershirt under darker tops. It is just more comfortable and prevents sweat holes in the pits.

I almost always wear undershirts under polos or dress shirts. I find that what suits me best is a longer undershirt. I put the undershirt on first, and I tuck that one in tightly. Then I put on the dress shirt and tuck it in separately. Once you get used to it you can get everything aligned right so you don't look "off."

If I have undershirt that's too short it will eventually come un-tucked underneath the dress shirt and it's a pain in the ass.

I wear them. Pretty much under any polo or button-down unless it's really hot out (and even then I'll still wear them under light-colored dress shirts). It prolongs the life of the shirt because the undershirt gets the sweat, the deodorant, etc and all that crap doesn't make it through to the outer shirt. It also lets me wear the outer shirt twice before washing if I didn't sweat heavily or get anything on it the first day, as the undershirt keeps the outer shirt from smelling funky.

I definitely wear them shits in dress shirts because of sweating but I'm thinking about switching to a v-neck undershirt. Anybody wear those?

This.

I occasionally wear an undershirt, depends on the weather and other things. I tend to sweat a lot so...
