There is a street there that might be the greatest street in the USA. Just saying. 9/4/2011 1:04:21 AM

^^bourbon street is a shithole to me. I loved the french quarter but when you get to bourbon street its just chaos and the stinch of old alcohol, nowhere to sit anywhere, sweaty drunk people 40-70 everywhere and you can't hear yourself think. I love all of the french quarter except that street.
To the alcoholics out there. I don't understand the significance of being able to walk from bar to bar with a drink. None of those bars have decent atmospheres, gnats are everywhere and the clientele is walmart nation. Why are you so attracted to the ability to be able to walk from bar to bar with a drink? Is it really that bad to drink your drink and then go to the next place? Beale street I like better than bourbon because of the music but I honestly, rather not be on either. 9/4/2011 8:28:00 AM

I loved New Orleans; stayed there for a week during the peak of the summer last year. We did the "5 Houses in 5 Days for 5 Years" thing with Habitat for Humanity. The people (not just Habitat people) were incredibly nice everywhere we went... just an all around great trip and we fell in love with the city. Reminded me of being in Europe in a number of ways. We spent a total of about 1hr on Bourbon Street during that week.
Don't knock it till you've gone there. I hope to move to NOLA some day before too long. 9/4/2011 10:03:52 AM

Going to New Orleans to see titties is like becoming a gynecologist to see vaginas. You'll be severely disappointed with how mediocre everything is and question your decision making abilities. 9/5/2011 12:38:07 AM
