i got a pair of rainbows as a gift...i rarely wear them as they're really nothing special...expensive and they fall apart ridiculously easily

chaco flips FTW...i wear chaco sandals or keens if i'm on a boat

mine wore through the sole in LESS than a year

i fully admit, though, that at the time i wore them most every day for 9 months out of the year...the outsoles are what wore out, not the leather

they're pretty shitty for what they cost

I'm on my fifth (and counting) year in my first and only pair of rainbows. I have 0 complaints, they've held up extremely well and are still comfortable. I am presently eating all the shit I talked before I bought my pair.

When you're moored off the shore and you've got to trudge through god-knows-what, a pair of boat shoes will save you from gashing your feet open. Who gives a shit about a little smell... They are airy and thin on purpose, so they dry out pretty quick. Forget socks in that situation anyway. Also better to have something made of natural materials than some molded plastic crocs.

Their flip flops have a weird sole. It's gooey squishy soft rather than soft yet cushioned. I only tried them in the store and I did like them more than the Reefs, Sanuks, Salomon, and Chacos Flip Flops, but it felt like every pine cone or rock was going to be poking my feet. Did not like.

If you think a leather shoe with no grip on the sole, poor drainage/air circulation, and only two laces is the best thing for walking through muck you're either naive, brainwashed, or you've never actually walked through any muck while tying up a boat. Water shoes are the ticket in that situation or rubber boots if it's really sticky and the water isn't deep...I like my Keen Boulders.

i wonder how his dad feels for him to throw his name out there (if that's his real name anyway). i think sperrys are fine if you're old or if you're actually on a boat. i have nothing against rainbows, but i've never had an interest in paying that much for flip flops when my $15 roxy flip flops have lasted 6+ years.

I've owned like every other flip flops possible but finally broke down and bought a pair of raindows. Like them so far.

I got pair of sperry's for my birthday awhile back. I wore socks with them to work. Comfortable shoes.

Recently went to buy another pair and they were $100. The off brand right below it was $50. Got the off brand because they too, wore very comfortable.

I love my Rainbows. I'm on my 3rd pair at the moment and they last on average around 5 years for me. They're more comfortable than any other flops I've tried though I'll admit they suck when wet. But if I plan on hiking through mtn creeks I bring my Tevas. That's right bitches, Tevas

...love me rainbows. When I first heard of them / saw them I thought they were overpriced but finally got a pair and 7 summers later they've finally worn down the edges to the point my toe starts touching the pavement. Took a few weeks to break them in but damn they're comfortable flops. I would gladly pay the $40 or whatever it costs now to grab another set. The reefs I got a while back seem alright but almost never wear them.

I like my rainbows.

Sperry's are kind of fratty, but boat shoes are very versatile with pants.

Likewise. Plus, I think they have Nike soles for extra comfort.

I wear my Sperry's for quick throw-on shoes in summer and sometimes to work.

I think the quality of rainbows has dropped off a bit.

The first pair I bought, I wore for 6 years before they wore down too much.

The second pair were unwearable after a year.

Thinking it was a one-off fluke, I bought another pair last year. I don't think they're gonna make it past this season.

So, i dunno, maybe they started making them in China. I'll be buying something else next time around.

I love the versatility of Sperry's. I can wear them with khaki shorts, jeans, or casual khaki pants. My Rainbows (the hemp ones) are nice and have held up fairly well. The hemp is fairly worn, but that's not surprising...I've had them over a year now. The sole and everything has held up just fine.

Where are you going with this? I have 2 pairs of leather soled CH's that I wear to work, when I need a little more than business casual johnston and murphy, and borns and rainbows, and sebagos and nikes...

Do you like my shoes?

I'm thinking the next woman I love will only wear heels. To the beach, to the gym, to work, to walk down coblestone streets.

Really wtf?
