I need to buy a new bed for my back...not looking to spend $5000, but not looking to buy another cheap-o.Does anyone recommend a place that sells Sealy Embody series (Level One or Level Three) beds? Mattress Firm calls them the "Introspective" and the "Pensive", but the name seems to change between stores so that you can't price shop. Their "major sale" ends tomorrow, so not trying to wait too long to make a decision. Already ruled out a Sleep Number b/c of comfort and Temperpedic because of price...Also, if anyone knows someone that works at the store that could hook me up, I'd throw them $300 cash for hooking me up with an employee discount. I know that beds have the biggest mark up, next to jewelry in consumer products...

You can't beat moravian cookies and goats milk on a hay mattress.

I'd give you and your friend 25% of the savings in cash if it's cheaper and the same mattress as Mattress Firm.

Neuse...as much as I jock you about it, that should have been your honeymoon destination. You'd feel soooo at home there!

Going to buy one online...price is too good.Mattress Firm's one time only sale that ends today is priced at $3,200 - $400 off instantly...sales guy said he could knock another $200 off, bringing it down to $2,600 for the mattress only. The adjustable base is $1,700 in the store = $4,300 total. If I buy it online from an online store only, I can get the identical Sealy set and adjustable base for $1,650 + $1,400 = $3,050 shipped with no sales tax. I'm going to go into the store and ask him if he can get within $400 of the online offer. If he can, I'll support the "local" corporate store and buy it with peace of mind should I need to return it. If he can't get within that range, I'll just buy it online as I've already tested it in the stores...

A Good Night Sleep Store next to Mens Warehouse was the most aggressive local store. I knocked off about $800 off the asking price for the mattress and adjustable base (massage, raise feet/back, etc).My bed is 8 years old and my back was bad enough, that I saw a doctor and chiropractor 10+ visits in August...any other bed was better, so I may as well invest in myself/my back and get what feels right. New bed should last 15-20 years as opposed to the average life spam of ~8 years.

That's one expensive mattress.

Mattress was around 1600 and top end adjustment base with 10 year warranty was 1500...massages, raises back and/or legs, sleep function, alarm clock, programmable and wireless remote.I'm married, I've had the same bed since my sophomore year (2003) of college...time for a big boy bed, not to mention I need to improve my sleep quality. No more chiropractor visits.I tried a Sleep Number at the mall, which my brother has and swears by, but it wasn't for me.
