For parts/repair:
IBM T42 Type:2372
1.7 GHz, ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 32 MB, 14.1" display. No RAM, hard drive, or AC adapter included.
I haven't used this in a few years, I believe the CPU fan is dead. I know I had to keep replacing the CPU fan because it kept going bad. The battery probably won't last more than 20 or 30 minutes.
Lenovo Y530 Model:20009
Core 2 Duo 2.13 GHz, 15.4" WXGA, 4 GB RAM (2x2GB PC3 8500), HDMI output. No AC adapter or HDD.
The screen on this one cracked and I purchased a brand new replacement LCD (below). I attempted to replace the LCD, but I got stuck trying to remove the old one so I gave up on it. I was still able to run it using an external display at the time, however.
AU Optronics B154EW01 Brand new. 15.4" WXGA

Just tested out the T42...it boots up, and gives a "Fan Error" because the CPU fan is dead as I thought was the case. Other than that, I believe everything works fine. 9/12/2011 6:44:50 PM |
