So i need to see an auto mechanic that does electronic services. I got pulled over a while ago in the day time for having no brake/tail lights and he gave me a ticket because i have a new car and it wouldn't be inspected until next year. The copy cold me that it was "probably a fuse" but when i got home that night all my lights appeared to be working. This was like 2 weeks ago and they've been working every single day as far as i can tell (i've had several people check). I went to an auto eletronics place and they were going to charge me $90 per hour for work and a minimum of $90, which i'd rather not pay since the shit works as far as i know. I'm assuming that i need proof of fixage in order to get off on this ticket, and that a receipt for a fuse wont cut it. Is there a cheap place i can go to get this shit verified? Can i just get an inspection?

seems like you could just fork over the $30 for an inspection...it won't count as your yearly inspection if it's more than 90 days from your inspection month, but $30 isn't too bad to get out of the ticket

Okay i guess i'll just do that. Is there anything i can do to ram a rhinoceros up this cops ass? its the second time i've been pulled over for 'lights' not working. The last time was for headlights in a car that had daytime running lights, not to mention that my headlights were actually on. The cop just wanted to see if i had been drinking... which i had not. Hear me out, maybe I can offer some insight

I've never received a ticket in Wake Co, but why would you need a receipt for anything? Just show them that your lights are working. When I got a ticket for my tint I just had someone at the HP office take a look and sign off on it. When I got a ticket for a license plate cover I just asked a random cop to see that it was no longer installed. 9/19/2011 10:05:02 AM |

The cop said to take it somewhere and have proof that it was working. I think i am required to go to court, because of the danger of having no brake lights. No semi will run you over because your windows are tinted...

this guy i used to work with had a cracked taillight, cop gave him ticket, he changed the bulb and taped the lense within the hour. saw cop 20 min later when he stopped for lunch, asked cop to check and sign, he did, cleared him of having to go to court, then looked at name of cop that gave ticket and proceeded with, "fucking rookie, i can't believe he wasted your time with this ticket." got on radio and cussed said rookie up and down. 9/19/2011 11:17:23 AM |

In both cases I then took the ticket to the DA's office and they dropped the ticket 9/19/2011 11:28:42 AM |

maybe you could call the highway patrol or RPD and see if you can bring it by and have them sign off that it's fixed. tell them that you fixed it yourself or something. if you go to court and that doesn't work, just request a continuance and then you can try another route. 9/19/2011 10:09:12 PM |
