^

I was thinking about this today and I wondered if it was normal for deeply devout religious females to have premarital relations. I know that there have to be a couple here on tww who could help me out. I'm not talking about the girls who take it in the butt to conserve their virginity either.

I'm inclined to give little thought to what religious people do, as long as they keep it to themselves. no proselytizing in my neighborhood, plz...

I just recite this prayer before each sexual intercourse.

Sex is a sin
Sins are forgiven
So stick it in!!! "

It depends on their relationship with Christ. But I would say if they are deeply in love with Christ than no its not normal.

^This.

For those that do it may be this:

"For that which I do, I do not own: for not what I will, this I do; but what I hate, this I practise."

Knew many girls that won't even kiss until the pastor says "i now pronounce you man and wife." These girls are usually pie-in-the-sky naive romantics who are looking for a guy that is a virgin, non-drinking, non-smoking, non-cursing hardcore christian navy seal. Yep. Which is basically why they end up being 35 and owning lots of cats.

as far as meredith girls, i knew one in particular that didn't believe in premarital sex, so her and her boyfriend had anal instead. seriously. she was as slutty as one could possibly be to still be a technical virgin. Weird. They ended up getting married, though, so hey, good for them.

different strokes for different folks, but not my cup of tea.

Someone can have a relationship with jesus and still give on to their desires on occasion. It depends more on the underlying personality.

For some ppl religion can only suppress instincts but so much.

^ yes you are right but if you are deeply in love with Christ then why would you knowingly want to hurt him? that's why I said deeply. It really depends on the individual's relationship and where they are on their journey.

What? So you're saying if the law supposed to be black and white, and I am in a gray area, you think I am in the black?

How about, the creator of the law should have been more explicit OR the creator of the law knew what they were doing and left a gray area for a reason.

I ended up having premarital sex but it was after I got engaged. I am not saying it was easy to not just give it up because everyone is horny and I was no exception. I just knew it was special to me and I didn't want to give it to someone who didn't want me forever. Lame. Hiss. Boo. Whatever. My shit was sacred and I knew it. Shit, I didn't even have lesbian sex even though I could have because I knew she wasn't the one for me.

So, luckily with those almost moments in my life, luckily I was with someone who knew my heart and didn't want to take that from me either. Maybe it was because they possibly knew that I would be batshit crazy afterwards or maybe they actually did care about me. Who knows and I never think about it. The few times I could have sealed the deal, I was always with someone I considered a close friend. All other times when I was with someone, it was because I did not want to give it to them.

Because different individuals have different personalities and respond to religion and relatinshops differently Being deeply in love with Christ doesn't make a person perfect. Sometimes you might just want some actual physical lovin' that Christ couldn't provide.

I wouldn't call that being deeply in love with Christ then. That's just me though. Being deeply in love with him means you strive for the greater good. Striving doesn't mean its easy, but it means you know that there is something more wroth it beyond this world.

I think the statistics show how much of a rarity that is, though. Google searching seems to indicate from a few sources that 95% have premarital sex; I'm frankly surprised it's that low. I was thinking the number was more like 97-98%.

In my own observation, most people not only have premarital sex, but do it pretty casually at least a time or two. It's not just sluts having one-night stands or humping on the first date...it's just that sluts do it constantly.

That's a pretty arrogant and judgmental position. Your struggles aren't the same as everyone else's. Just because you don't have issues with sex doesn't mean someone who does is less of a Christian. You clearly have issues with pride that others might not have, and that's worse in most ways.

^^I was a little surprised that even 5% remain virgins until marriage. I suspect that if you only looked at our generation, the number would be even lower. 2-3% rings a bell for some reason.

I'm trying to think...out of everyone I know, I'm only coming up with one person from our generation who waited until marriage, and he got divorced within a few years (victim of the double-threat of rushing into marriage and being in the military. he barely had a chance.) I suspect that his 2nd wife was a virgin, but then again, it took the power of the internet to find her, and he had to import her from 650 miles away.

I know an F-18 pilot who, last I heard, had never boned. Of course, he's not yet married, either, and while I think he's fairly religious, I think he's a virgin primarily because he's staggeringly nerdy, haha...and as best as I can tell, mostly disinterested in women/sex.

ok, so you were saying the number of people NOT bwning before marriage was high by your estimate. that would make more sense, but would be the opposite of what you actually typed

I'm going to stop putting references so people will actually read when I post scripture.

Quote :
"For that which I do, I do not own: for not what I will, this I do; but what I hate, this I practise."

Meaning Paul knew what was good, but still could not always refrain from doing evil. Often the saints who have sex know it to be wrong, but often cannot refrain from continuing in it.

^^^^ No Its really not actually.

Quote :
"Sin is an offense against reason, truth, and right conscience; it is failure in genuine love for God and neighbor caused by a perverse attachment to certain goods. It wounds the nature of man and injures human solidarity. It has been defined as "an utterance, a deed, or a desire contrary to the eternal law."121

1850 Sin is an offense against God: "Against you, you alone, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in your sight."122 Sin sets itself against God's love for us and turns our hearts away from it. Like the first sin, it is disobedience, a revolt against God through the will to become "like gods,"123 knowing and determining good and evil. Sin is thus "love of oneself even to contempt of God."124 In this proud self- exaltation, sin is diametrically opposed to the obedience of Jesus, which achieves our salvation."

premarital sex=sin, I also said not everyone is on the same point of their journey. I am no less guilty.

It is sound doctrine in that instance. But I hope you do not believe the rest of the Catechism shares in its soundness.

Not that we have the same obedience. But that Christ having been completely obedient to the law and the commandment of the Father, even unto death, achieved our salvation.
