I'm all about some personal responsibility but lately I've grown suspicious that there are some things out of my control - like the economy.

So why can't I get a job?

Is it because I chose a "stupid" field where no one makes any money? Sure.
Is it because I am living in a city with a minimal media industry? You bet.

But is it also because insurance premiums are rising precipitously, and for little reason, discouraging employers from new hiring? I think so.
