Looking for a shop that can make me a Y pipe just like in the picture. two 2.5" inlets merged into a 2.5" outlet. I dont like that bling stuff from China I see on ebay. Im in Raleigh. How much $$$??

I would go over to RJ's. You could try calling him but he's not exactly sunshine when you talk to him on the phone, and would usually say that he needs to see the car.

maybe the 2.5" feeds aren't fully saturated?

Oh definitely a consideration, I'm just thinking about the cross-sectional area at the merge, and the velocities/flow profiles therein with the pictured setup.

And judging from the original assembly... not big power

Oh word, i guess the driveshaft/trans is tucked pretty high? (never looked)

I know I'm hounding, and people will argue, but why not 3" after the merge?

is it possible there's a single cat off the headers and this Y is right before the 2 mufflers in the back? im sure it's 1 muffler with 2 outlets in the back and this Y is after the cats and O2 sensors in the front

The oem header has a 2.25 outlet. The oem cats are 2.25 in\out. The oem ypipe is 2.25 in\2.5out. The main choke point is the brick heavy oem cats. Its two of them right before the y pipe. I replaced mine with high flow cats that are 2.25 in\2.5 out. So there is my problem. They are 2.5 out going into a 2.25 in on the oem y pipe. This causes major rasp! I could get a 2.5in\3out Y pipe, but the midpipe (pipe after the Y) is only 2.5 inches. I dont want to run a 3" exhaust with high flow cats on a daily driven G35 sedan. 2.5" exhaust is enough for a NA 3.5 liter 280hp engine.
