Some friends of mine found this dog at Lake Johnson yesterday afternoon. Can you help him find his way home? Male, not neutered. I assume no tags, since they weren't able to contact anyone.

yeah, but not all have all variety of chip readers

and I think SPCA will do it for free, I've heard of some vets charging to scan an animal- which is absolutely asinine

I've never run into a clinic that would charge for checking for a microchip - if someone brought in an animal for an exam and also asked them to check for micro-chip, you'd definitely get charged for the exam fee, though. Maybe that's the mix-up.

In any case, SPCA will do it happily - I brought a cat in last year and the front desk girl fawned over him for a good fifteen minutes while thoroughly checking him.

^^^ I guess she just saw balls and assumed they were full.

^^ I'm a girl

^ My friends are out there by the lake now, hoping someone will come looking today. I left a message to go to the SPCA when they leave.

Yeah there's only so much you can do unless you get lucky and someone puts up lost dog signs. The dog might not have even gotten lost near the lake and wandered over there from who knows where. I remember once a dog from Wake Forest ended up in my parents' yard near Lake Lynn Thankfully that dog had tags on so we could just call the owners.

the good thing is we have like 10 people that have already offered to adopt him if they don't find the owner(s).

I'll take this dog if no one claims it. But only if TenaciousC delivers it to me. I have a pretty big crush on her, and am interested in seducing her.

I can't stand the name Little Bit for a pet, only because I used to work with this complete psycho that would drone on and on and on about her cat Little Bit.

this doesn't happen in dogs if the neuter was done correctly. i know what you're talking about with cats though.
