You're right, asides from having the same engines/transmissions, basic chassis components and very similar styling, they are both totally different cars. Please educate me further on how the new Cherokees differs from the Durango. Is the badging any different? How about the steering wheels? I just checked some interior photos, and I must say, the steering wheel of the Jeep looks more rugged and I think the cup holder positioning is different between the two cars!

Yeah, the Cherokee is geared more toward off-road while the Durango is not. But they're based on the same fucking platform, share the same drivetrain and shares much of the same interior design. To say they're not based on the same platform is fucking ignorant.
