Just booked a vacation there. Has anyone ever been? Did you like it? Anything/place to see or avoid? Are you allowed to have a drink while on the lazy river?

I've been there. Probably the coolest hotel I've been to. It is seperated from most everything else in Nassau so everything is $$$$$. Like buffets at $78/person. Fun and relaxed casino and a pretty kick ass night club (Aura?). Anywhere you go off of "Paradise Island" requires a toll on the bridge. But going to Senior Frogs or Waterloo can be fun. But get out in the water. Clearest I've seen. And arrange your insanely dangerous cab fare before you get in the cab, otherwise they'll try and rip you off. I recommend Stuart's Cove for any snorkel/scuba/snuba/etc.

You can take a water taxi for like 2 bucks to avoid the toll on the bridge.

I've been a few times. Worked for Harborside Resort at Atlantis and really love the resort.

The lazy river is great. Yes, you can bring alcohol on the lazy river/the current, but it must be in a plastic cup. Though now that I think about it, I only drank clear vodka drinks when I was on the lazy river there, so perhaps it was mistaken for water?

Either way, it's a good time. All of the slides are awesome.

Nobu is a great dinner option. Mesa Grill is overrated. You'll spend a lot on food, but IMO, you're better off staying at Atlantis for everything. I don't really recommend venturing far from the resort due to crime in the area. The rest of Nassau isn't really exciting anyway.

If you want to do something really fun, try the Trainer for a Day experience. I haven't done it, but most of my colleagues have, and it's supposed to be soooo cool. http://www.atlantis.com/thingstodo/dolphincay/trainerforaday.aspx

Even if you don't do that, do something at Dolphin Cay. Awesome area.

Have fun!

^^ Forgot about Senor Frogs. That place is hilarious. MILF city. Def good people-watching!

I already signed us up for dolphin cay and golf.

And yeah I heard meals there are insanely priced. I thought about getting the meal plan for $99/person/day, but I didn't want to be tied to any specific restaurant and times.

During the day, I typically just grab a sandwich or snacks at a beach bar. The price markup isn't that huge for casual venues.

While you may not want to be tied to times, be sure to get reservations for any fine dining venues, particularly if the restaurant is affiliated with a celeb chef.

If you decide to venture beyond Atlantis, here are a few other ideas:

1) Deep-sea fishing: my guy friends love this
2) Fort Charlotte: really neat if you like history
3) Versailles Gardens: also cool if you like history

My colleagues have recommended all of these, though it really depends on the length of your stay. Atlantis is so big that there's really no need to leave if you're just looking for relaxation.

The only restaurant that was open past 10 was Bobby Flay's mexican place. I was about half shitfaced on margaritas when Young Jeezy walked in with his crew.

They got to their table and then he made his bodyguard go wait in the bar. I felt kinda bad for him.

^^^I was pretty underwelmed by Fort Charlotte when I went to Nassau. If you have ever seen a civil war fort (like Caswell) or anything half as cool, you might feel the same way.

The only thing I remember about that tour was that it ended in the gift shop. The tour guide literally stood in the doorway and pointed out things I should buy for my girlfriend. It had been raining that day, so maybe we had been the only people to stop by and they were desperate for money.

It's not as good as the NYC location, but it's still quite good. Nobu is a must, IMO.

What is Nobu? Just sushi?

I also reserved a bed at the Cain pool. Adults only.

Never been personally, but my brother works for the Atlantis resort in Dubai (he is director of their bad ass water park). Any way he hooked up my parents with a super deal (like $200/night) at the resort in the Bahamas for their $2000/night top floor suites and got them cheap deals on excursions like swimming with dolphins, etc. They absolutely loved it and had an amazing hotel room (balconies on three different sides).

That's all I got. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time there.

Did they stay at the Reef? That is the one with the suites.

We are in the Cove.

Amazing Japanese food. There's sushi as well as a ton of other hot and cold Japanese dishes.

^^ I am not sure man. I think they were in the Royal tower or somthing. Their room was freaking amazing, like Hollywood Vegas movie amazing from the pictures I remember. I think their room even had a grand piano or something pimp like that. It was definitely over the top. My brother hooked them up big time.
