Quote : | "Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme – but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me - how ludicrous that pairing was. They’re polar opposites and it made no sense. They don’t see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the President.” “Every time the media brings up the tea party it’s painted as racist and extremists – but there’s never a backlash – no outrage to those comparisons… Working class people are hurting – and it doesn’t seem like anybody cares. When both sides are high-fiving it on the ninth hole when everybody else is without a job – it makes a whole lot of us angry. Something has to change. The policies have to change.” – Hank Williams, Jr.

probably presidents Washington-Roosevelt. I think the more pressing question is, who were those presidents compared to when someone wanted to vilify them? 10/4/2011 12:03:06 AM

Something tells me Hank Jr. doesn't care too much about his NFL spot and he'll do just fine without it.
Not a big fan of his music, but I saw him once at Walnut Creek on some free tickets. As some yokels ran through the crowd with Swastika flags he made a pretty sincere sounding speech telling people he didn't support that stuff and to judge people for who they are rather than the color of their skin. When a small portion of the crowd boo'ed he told them they were welcome to fuck off. It was pretty ballsy considering his fan base and I've always respected him for it.
I just don't think the faux news political forum is the type of place for a guy like him; nor do I really care too much what he has to say about any particular candidate. While I'll listen to his opinions I don't trust his judgment any more than that of the rest of the entertainment industry.

As usual, I'm not convinced that Hank Jr. was sober. He certainly was only borderline coherent.
Also, what he said was not in any meaningful way a comparison of the President to Hitler, and I don't understand what the big deal was about his comment. 10/4/2011 7:53:56 PM

I think he was merely trying to say that Obama and Boehner are polar opposites
That comment still wasnt as bad as all the shit that dumb liberals have said about the tea party or Bush/Cheney

LOL, I love how its assumed by all the over-sensitive liberals that Obama is Hitler in the anology simile.
Its so painfully obvious that he wasn't comparing Obama directly to Hitler. He was commenting on how wide apart the two parties are in philosophy. This story is a real all around. 10/4/2011 8:34:40 PM
