Place on tip of pointer finger. Use other hand to lift up eye lid. Put in contact, directly where it is supposed to sit. 10/4/2011 8:10:30 PM

Apparently there is an issue with me just dumping the contact from the container into my palm when needing to put it in. 10/4/2011 9:55:21 PM

I can't even read this thread without my eyes tearing up. Let alone watching someone else touch their eye. Let alone touch my own eyeball. 10/5/2011 8:02:40 AM

Yeah, it freaks me out.
There is no way I could get lasik.
I've been looking for a place that will do it under general anesthesia. I found a place, but it is all the way out in Cali and costs $10k. It's tough to pull the trigger on that when you know it only costs $2500 everywhere else. 10/5/2011 8:18:41 AM

Someone told me before I did Lasik that going to the dentist was worse, that was a freaking lie.
It is weird as hell watching up close while someone is jabbing and messing with your eyes, and then in the middle of the operation some machine pushes really hard on your eye and everything goes black.
It's not the funnest operation in the world. 10/5/2011 6:02:14 PM

I use my fingers to pull my eyelids about as a far back as Malcom McDowell's and use my index finger to pop it in.
Took a while to finally get a technique together for it. I had to go to the eye care place three times before we could finally get them into my eye. I was too flinchy and kept seeing images of needles and knives being near my eyes.
Of course, that third time they had the cute college girl (I was in high school) helping so she made me more nervous than the contacts did. 10/5/2011 6:11:11 PM

for putting them in...and i'll admit i do it weird
wash hands pull bottom eye lid down place contact on eye pull top lid over contact look down contact in place
the whole putting it directly over my eyeball thing never worked for me...for some reason letting my eyelids do all the work has 10/5/2011 6:16:06 PM

At Travers Lasik it's about $1,250 an eye, plus you can get on a 0% payment plan for a year.
It still costs a chunkload of money though. 10/7/2011 4:37:50 PM

I put mine on the side of my eyeball and look left/right to get it into place
then blink
same for taking them out...slide contact to the side then pinch to remove

haven't worn them in a few years but it was different for each eye. Of course I wash my hands before I do it (I am right handed). A few times in highschool I was too lazy to wash my hands and it did result in an eye infection.
Left eye:
look straight ahead pull up top of eyelid with left hand use middle finger of right hand to pull down bottom of lid insert contact with pointer finger on right hand
right eye:
look straight ahead use middle finger of right hand to pull down bottom of lid insert contact with pointer finger on right hand 10/7/2011 6:01:05 PM
