I'm the guy everyone else hates on road trips because I'm a tyrant about refusing to stop for people to pee every hour. I can hold it long enough to make it through an entire gas tank, and unless you're a small child, you should be, too.

I have someone I routinely ride with who shall remain nameless who needed to pee 2 times on the way from raleigh to wilmington, and peed right before we left, and needed to pee right when we got into town

I don't hold my pee anymore. I held it during an all day fishing trip, probably a good ten hours. I ended up with a uti.

How does holding your urine create an infection? Doesn't germs have to infect an area in order to get a UTI? Are you saying that by peeing every 4 hours, you rinse away 100% of your germs in the urethra but not peeing after 10 hours, the germs will grow roots into your urethra?

Now, I had a problem with holding my urine for long periods of time and it caused diverticulitis. I thought peeing was a waste of time and an annoying distraction from whatever I'm concentrating on so I held it in, overriding the pain, and forgetting about it. I figured that my body would force me to pee when I really had to pee, but I was wrong.

In 1995 I had to have surgery to remove the cysts formed by the weakened areas of my bladder, like the weak areas of a balloon when you blow it up too big.

My advice is: don't hold your urine.

i think our pee can kill bushes cause several times i peed out a window and like there was a bush outside that window and then like a few months later i noticed the bush was dead

It rinses away enough of the bacteria to prevent a UTI.
